Where did the year go?
If you know me or have read any of my three novels you know that I, and consequently my characters, can’t sit still for very long and 2019 kept us busy. Here are a few photos of some of what I’ve been up to in recent months, starting with book signings in England, California, Florida, and Virginia. Little Arizona learned to climb and as you can see from the rest there’s an East Coast USA sunrise to die for and hints of where the next novel might be heading. In THE LOST PULSE, the sequel to FOUND IN TIME, the Marines got aboard the International Space Station for a rescue mission but without the shuttle or Russia’s help.
I had the honor a few years ago of touring the Battleship Missouri at Pearl Harbor and set a fictional scene there during the Japanese surrender in Tokyo Bay. This year I had the honor of touring the Battleship New Jersey. Amazing ships and so many stories about the heroic men and women who served aboard them. In Fuelin’ Around I wrote of an incident at 38,000 feet high over the Atlantic but the chemical spill on this flight home was even more intriguing.
Despite having been in and around motorsports since I was a teenager and have spoken with the King many times I finally got to tour Petty’s Garage and leave off a few books for the driver that got me interested in racing. Merry Christmas and best wishes for a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year! P.S. – Let me know if you recognize where the sunset photo was shot. It’s a must-see city for sure.
