JK’s Headed to Heathrow (Again)
Just after the start of the New Year I’ll be focused on this next excursion to England. Heathrow’s located near London and it’s one of the busiest airports on the planet. You can get just about anywhere from there and I can’t help think back to all the crazy things that happened with Heathrow as the setting.
There was the voicemail message from the Survivor Show I retrieved on landing. I never gave up and after improvising, adapting, and overcoming I finally got the call. If you are at all intrigued by the sentence, “Put that dildo down,” you will surely get a kick out of reading about that experience in Chapter Nine.
You would think with the stringent gun control laws that exist in other countries the likelihood of having one pointed at me was slim. Yea, that’s what I thought until Chapter Ten.
Of course, especially in this day and age, causing an incident on an airplane is really frowned upon. What happened at 38,000 feet, high over the Atlantic, all thanks to something my buddy brought aboard was truly memorable for a multitude of reasons. That’s in Chapter Sixteen if you’re up for a laugh that turned serious very suddenly.
I’ll be headed off to the NEC in Birmingham for the Autosport International Show. It’s the “SEMA” or “PRI” of Europe and takes place every January. It’s the one spot where you can come across a championship winning WRC Rally Car or a super sleek F1 beauty all under one roof. Fuelin’ Around’s North American launch went really well at the shows in Vegas and Indy so I’m really looking forward to this event.
I made so many trips overseas for VP Racing Fuels during my career that my family was starting to think I had a second one stashed somewhere over there. One reason I will never take any of them to Spain!
For my million plus air miles I have to say there is no place like home but the excitement of travel is in my blood so how cool is it that I was able to find a career that helped fulfill that passion. It wasn’t all grins and giggles though. Everything comes at a cost.
Best wishes to you for a Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy, and happy 2019!
